  • @kendall_m_holla Yaay! There is a finale to the story!
  • and the tire saga continues! Just got the call from the shop saying my 3 Perellis arrived from tirerack.com.
  • GSlammer
This is GSlammer. It looks like you do need some new tires by the video of them. You are going down the right track so far. Question, do you have a full size spare or a donut?
  • GSlammer! Nice to see you! I think I have a donut... not a full size spare. Why do you ask?
  • Jag
Beautiful Mini you've got! Make sure to get those rims shined for the new Pirelli's. :-)
  • I promise to give Mini a wash after I get the tires. (blushing)

  • Ok, so I have already hit a snag with the online tire buying... not sure which to choose, metal or rubber valve. @peterapokotos you say either, but then what is it you are talking about in your last tweet to me... take something whaaaa... where? Clarify please. =)
  • What is the Year and Model of your Mini? As for the valves. Don't worry about getting that from TireRack. Those are only needed with you were purchasing wheels (Rims) from them as well.
  • I'm going to get some noodles for dinner... @peterapokotos!! TTYL, please.
  • TireRack seems to agree with me on the Dunlop tires.

175/65R15 Dunlop SP Sport 01 Blackwall
for 2007 Mini Cooper With Metal Valve Stem

    or

175/65R15 Dunlop SP Sport 01 Blackwall
for 2007 Mini Cooper With Rubber Valve Stem

Same tire but it seems there may be a difference in the valve stem fitting.

Just to be safe. Go out to your car and feel the area where you put air in your tires. (That is the valve stem) If it feels like rubber then select the rubber option if it feels like metal then choose the metal one.)
  • it's all coming together.
  • Sure, make me feel real bad now. Like I said. Call these tire places and ask them how much it will cost if your purchase the tires from them and have it mounted there. It may come out to the same price or a little bit more. Of course, I don't know what the market for tires are in SF.

    Happy Birthday Sukhjit!
  • Whhhaaat! Don't you dare feel bad. I am saving money (which is very important right now) and I learned something. That's the most amazing part. I actually learned about my car and it took some hand holding from friends like you. I appreciate it.

Anyway.. still deciding what to do about the folks and the farm. They won't like it that I'm not home to share my b'day... ugh.
  • Are your tires that bad that you can't make it for a quick trip? Or are they that far away. Sorry, I'm not that good of a stalker to know that already. :-P
  • I should have ordered them on Wednesday but I was so busy!
  • Okay, TireRack will send the tires out. And they come faster than you'd imagine. I don't know if they use local shops or something. Anyway, they will leave the tires at your front door if you are not home. They do not come in a container. Just the plain tires. Sukhjit, You just need to pick a tire that's the same size. But, then you also have to decide on the Speed Rating and the type of tire you want. It's hard to teach you everything through comments or tweets. Also, then you have to decide on the brand. Out of all of them I have found Dunlop tires to be the best. And I'm pretty rough on my tires.
  • This is where I'm at with this tire thing @peterapokotos
  • 175/65R15 yes, you're gonna need to remember that!
  • @joelvincent ROCKS! Thanks for the comment! Now on to calling the shops to make sure.
  • This is classic Sukhjit! So when you receive the tires, who puts them on the car for you and how much does that cost? What happens if your not home when they are delivered? Do they drop them on the door step? :)
  • @secretsushi! I love that u tweeted your comment! That is cool!
  • At the end there your Bhangra music mixed a little form the group SNAP! and their song I've Got the Power! Kinda sad you cut the video off before I could see where it was going. By the way, thank Disqus for adding the cool tweet feature to their commenting system. This one shall be tweeted as well.
  • @secretsushi you know your music! Song is on my blip playlist! http://blip.fm/sukhjit It's called Snap - The power of Bhangra! Great song, excellent video! --sukhjit
