Unboxing: XSKN

Here’s a great tool I found at Mac World for Final Cut users. I’m probably even more pumped up about it after having gone to the Final Cut SUPERmeet last night. XSKN has a keyboard and keyboard accessory to make editing faster, easier & cleaner. I’m a short cut and hot key addict so this is so useful to me.   • I've been using the KBCovers version of this for FCP for about 3 years now and I love it. Have you seen that one for a comparison?

    Very cool! This would definitely be a big help to a freelance FCP editor such as myself. But why do all the Final Cut keyboard skins on their website look suspiciously like Avid skins? :)

    I just bought one of the FCP shortcut skins after seeing the video.
    Very cool. The company website is not user friendly and paypal is the preferred payment service. Probably best to buy at the show.

  • Hey Dusty, thanks so much for visiting my site. I don't think I've met you before, so hello and I'm glad you got something out of my video! I am having the same problem as you... the xskn site is very hard to navigate. If I have their contact info, I'm going to tell them that a few people have mentioned this. It's good feedback, don't you think. If all fails, I may have to get you to help me figure out how to buy the keyboard I want! I can't seem to figure it out yet!

    This is awesome. I am not much of a video editor, but my friend and roomate (@Dparsons22 on Twitter) is always using finalcut. I will surely let him know about this and I look forward to more of your stellar videos!

  • i'm totally buying one of these, i have one of the slim apple keyboards and i got FCP a while back but everytime i use it i find myself fiddling around like an idiot trying to find the right keys and menus, this will be awesome especially when i start my videography class in a couple of weeks. this discount was kind of the deal sealer =)

    nice! that's a good idea. thank god the apple keyboards are standardized; it makes it easier to buy a skin for your keyboard.

    pc users literally have to buy a new keyboard. the best editing accessory I have ever bought was this: http://www.contourdesign.com/shuttlepro/ ...in fact if you haven't bought one already you should! It's so worth it!

    not to mention you can program it to be used other apps.

  • sorry, I've tried to record video reply like hundred times now - something seems to be wrong with seesmic or my camera...
